Attorney Bryan Rickman of Independence, KS; thieving loser

The sate of Kansas presented Bryan A. Rickman with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from the University of Tulsa Law School.

The Kansas Board for Discipline of Attorneys found Bryan guilty of the following misconduct

• Stole estate funds
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonest or misrepresentation
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Bryan!)
• Thefts of estate funds totaled over $8,000 and 10 different checks
• Invented one uneven amount to put on check to discourage suspicion of thefts
• Failed to appear as ordered by Crawford County District Court
• Failed to act with reasonable diligence (slacker)
• Exhibited dishonest and selfish motives
• Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
• Took advantage of vulnerable clients

As a consequence of his misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Kansas Supreme Court punished Bryan by gifting him with a complimentary indefinite suspension of his law license.

Unbelievably, the comedians sitting on the Kansas Supreme Court reinstated Bryan the Thief’s law license five years after his suspension.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Bryan’s First Bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary admonishment for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

Because Attorney Misfits in Kansas are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Bryan was never criminally charged for grand theft.

As we speak (October 2015) Bryan practices with the Southeast Kansas Public Defender Office at 200 Arco Place in Independence, Kansas.
