Attorney Santo Ruma of Peabody, MA; ethical elf

The state of Massachusetts provided Santo J. Ruma with a law license in 1966 after he graduated from Boston University Law School.

The Massachusetts Judicial Commission found Santo guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was sitting as a First Justice of the Peabody Court.

  • Engaged in an abuse of power
  • Illegally ordered courtroom spectator jailed
  • Knowingly violated person’s due process rights
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Misconduct brought judicial office into disrepute

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Massachusetts Supreme Court punished Santo by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (October 2015), Santo practices law at 34 Main Street in Peabody, Massachusetts.
