Attorney James Hughes of Portland, OR; ethical elf

The state of Oregon provided James D. Hughes with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from Willamette University Law School.

The Oregon State Bar found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Jimmy!)
  • Neglected legal matter entrusted to him
  • Violated duty of loyalty to client
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Jimmy’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging gin a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oregon Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 30-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. October 2015) Jimmy practices at 8485 SW Homewood Street in Portland, Oregon.
