Attorney Vincent Bevacqua of Newark, NJ; convicted thief, repeater

The state of New Jersey presented Vincent Bevacqua with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from Rutgers University Law School.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Vinnie guilty of the following misconduct.

Vinnie’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in gross neglect
  • Engaged in a pattern of neglect
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with clients
  • Failed to explain matters to extent reasonably necessary to permit clients to make informed decisions regarding representation
  • Failed to reduce to writing basis for fee
  • Failed to promptly return client’s file
  • Assisted unlicensed attorney to illegally practice law in New Jersey

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Vinnie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

Vinnie’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Negligent misappropriation of client funds
  • Engaged in fraud, deceit, dishonest or misrepresentation
  • Made false statements of material fact to ethics investigator (Up yours, said Vinnie)
  • Engaged in conflict of interest by representing drive and passenger in auto accident
  • Engaged in criminal conduct

Vinnie apparently had a penchant for shoplifting at the Old Bridge K-Mart. He was arrested and found guilty of the following criminal conduct.

  • Posing as someone else attempted to buy Sylvania TV and Sony Play Station with fraudulent credit cards
  • Signed credit card slip claiming to be Vincent Jones for $591
  • Repeated same conduct two days earlier at same K-Mart store but when phony credit card was declined he immediately left the store.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Vinnie by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. September 2015) Vinnie practices at 50 Park Place in Newark New Jersey.
