Is San Diego Judicial Candidate Bill Trask a moron, religious zealot and a nut case?

Attorney Bill Trask is employed by Security One Lending in San Diego. Trask is one of four right-wing nut cases, Craig Candelore, Harold Coleman and Larry Kincaid running against four incumbent San Diego Superior Court judges in the upcoming election primary election.

Bill Trask admittedly has no prior judicial experience which of course is not in and of itself a disqualifier. However, it cannot be disputed that he is a card-carrying member of the lunatics that have dedicated their careers to cheerfully attacking gays while at the same time claiming to be born-again Christians.

On his web site, Trask proudly proclaims to be a member of the following right-wing, lunatic organizations.
  • Pacific Justice Institute (PJI) located in right here in Sacramento. Attorney Brad Dacus is president and founder of PJI and is a well recognized religious zealot (aka, nut case). PJI proudly announced that its recent “Celebration of Justice” event that Karl Rove and Dr. James Dobson were guest speakers.
  • Alliance Defense Fund of Scottsdale, AZ states on its web site, “God has granted [It’s always God, right?] us an amazing opportunity to serve Him, as we fight to preserve through our legal system the principles upon which our country was founded. Only by God’s grace and strength can we accomplish these critical tasks [attacking gays.]
Bragging to have had Karl Rove and Dr. James Dobson as guest speakers on the issue of equitable justice for all, who you wholeheartedly support, is analogous to:
  • Soliciting Sen. David Vitter to speak on the virtues of being faithful to one’s spouse
  • Inviting ex. Rep. Duke Cunningham to speak on Ethics in Government
Conclusion

If attorney Bill Trask is qualified to sit on the bench in San Diego, then Jeffrey Dahmer was qualified to be appointed as official caterer for the Whitehouse (hear tell Jeff’s rump roast recipe was just out-of-this-world).

Now, I’ve got nothing against religion; however, it cannot under any circumstances be allowed to impact upon a judge’s rulings. Moreover, when a judicial candidate is willing to place the issue of “God” into the political arena and/or a race for a judgeship, then such conduct should be an automatic disqualifier from ever hold judicial office.
