Attorney DeAnn Strub of Phoenix; serial offender

 

The state of Arizona provided DeAnn Gillespie Strub with a law license in 1985 after she graduated from Brigham Young University Law School.

 

The Arizona State Bar found Dee guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Dee’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to timely record judgment on client’s behalf
  • Released payment to opposing party without first obtaining client authorization
  • Failed to file counterclaim on behalf of client

As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Dee by gifting her with a complimentary admonishment.

 

Dee’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

 

In one matter, Dee failed to timely prepare settlement documents by the deadline imposed by the trial court.

 

As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Dee by gifting her with a second complimentary admonishment.

 

Dee’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

 

While representing a client in divorce proceedings, Dee found it acceptable to improperly engage in ex parte (one-sided) communications with the trial judge.

 

As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Dee by gifting her with a third complimentary admonishment.

 

Dee’s 4th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

 

While representing a client in divorce proceedings, Dee knowingly misused a court rule to obtain confidential information about an opposing party when there was no outstanding child support obligation as required under California law.

 

As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Dee by gifting her with a fourth complimentary admonishment.

 

Dee’s 5th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to communicate with her client for the first two months
  • Failed to respond to opposing counsel’s motion for an award of attorney fees on client's behalf

As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Dee by gifting her with a fifth complimentary admonishment.

 

Dee’s 6th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Failed to provide required written agreement from client regarding representation involving conflict of interest
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Improperly communicated with person represented by counsel
  • Failed to properly supervise underlings

As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Dee by gifting her with a sxith complimentary admonishment.

 

In 2015, Dee was found guilty of engaging in a variety of misconduct for the seventh time. On this occasion, the comedians sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Dee by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

 

As we speak (ca. July 2015), Dee practices with Gillespie Shields & Durrant at 7319 North 16th Street in Phoenix, Arizona.
