Attorney Steven Cohen of Madison, WI; convicted felon, repeater

The state of Wisconsin presented Steven M. Cohen with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Stevie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Convicted of obstructing a police officer
  • Convicted of disorderly conduct
  • Found guilty of delivery of illegal articles to an inmate, a felony
  • Accepted $2,500 advance fee w/o preparing written fee agreement detailing scope of representation, the basis or rate of the fee, or the purpose and effect of the advanced fee
  • Failed to communicate with client

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Jimmy’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct, including a conviction for disorderly conduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Patty by gifting him with a complimentary 4-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. March 2018), Stevie practices with the Cohen Law Office at 30 West Mifflin Street in Madison, Wisconsin.
