Attorney Janet Heins of Mequon, WI; ethical goblin

The state of Wisconsin presented Janet L. Heins with a law license in 1991 after she graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Janet guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in six counts of misconduct relating to three client matters
  • Failed to provide required notices to client upon termination
  • Failed to submit fee dispute with cleint to binding fee arbitration
  • Failed to hold client’s funds in client trust account
  • Failed to timely deliver settlement funds owing to client
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Janet!)

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Janet by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. April 2018), Janet practices with the Heins Employment Law Practice LLC at 1001 West Glen Oaks Lane in Mequon, Wisconsin.
