Attorney Charles Bowser of DC; convicted liar

The District of Columbia presented Charles H. Bowser with a law license in 1992.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Charlie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to disclose client had previously been arrested on application submitted to the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS)
  • Submitted a second application for same client to different INS office and falsely stated his client had never been arrested
  • Convicted in US District Court for Eastern District of Virginia of aiding and abetting making of false statement to a federal agency
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Failed to withdraw representation when withdrawal required

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the DC Court of Appeals punished Charlie by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2015), Charlie continues to practice in the Washington, DC area.
