Attorney Kenneth Weiland Jr. of Des Moines; thief, serial offender

 

The state of Iowa presented Kenneth John Weiland Jr. with a law license in 1964 after he graduated from Drake University Law School.

 

The Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board found Doughty guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Kenny’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree – 2003

  • Failed to provide competent representation (Moron)
  • Failed to conclude probate matters on behalf of clients

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Kenny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Kenny’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree – 2008

  • On at least 20 occasions bill State Public Defender for roundtrips to Des Moines when in fact he never made such trips
  • Charged unreasonable fees and expenses
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to administration of justice
  • Illegal billing for roundtrips caused or potentially caused indigent defendants to reimburse state for said costs under Iowa law
  • Billed 1.8 hours to attend arraignment that lasted 15 minutes or less
  • Billed 2.6 hours for pretrial conference lasting 15 minutes or less
  • Billed 1.6 hours for status conference that lasted 15 minutes or less
  • Billed 2.3 hours for suppression hearing lasting 15 minutes or less

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Kenny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Kenny’s 4th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree – 2015

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to administration of justice
  • Failed to file required appellate filing fee on client’s behalf
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to expedite client’s litigation
  • Made false statements to a tribunal
  • Received at least 40 delinquency notices from Iowa Supreme Court

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Kenny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

In addition to the three bites at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree aforementioned, Kenny previously received one (1) complimentary admonishment for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

 

As we speak (ca. June 2015), Kenny practices with the Weiland Law Firm PC at 1502 30th Street in Des Moines, Iowa.
