Attorney David Roggenbaum of Lakewood, NY; thieving repeater

The state of New York presented David Roggenbaum with a law license in 2002 after he graduated from Case Western University Law School in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Committee on Professional Standards found Dave guilty of the following misconduct.

• Misappropriated (stole) client funds
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Dave!)
• Failed to act with due diligence
• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Neglected a legal matter entrusted to him
• Failed to keep client informed about status of legal matter
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Failed to promptly comply with client requests for information
• Failed to maintain client funds in special account
• Failed to pay or deliver to client in prompt manner funds owing to client
• Failed to make accurate, contemporaneous entries of all financial transactions
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
• Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Dave’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received two (2) complimentary letters of caution for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Standards Committee punished Dave by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. June 2015), Dave practices at 190 Shadyside Avenue in Lakewood, New York.
