Judge Mark Andrus of Farmington, UT: bully, lifetime porker

The state of Utah presented Mark Andrus with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from the University of Utah Law School.

The Utah Conduct Commission found Judge Andrus guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Conduct was impatient, undignified and discourteous
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Conduct brought the judiciary into disrepute

During an adoption proceeding Andrus allowed the maternal grandparents and the biological mother of the children to address the court regarding their objections to the adoption.

During the hearing, Andrus repeatedly raised his voice and interrupted the maternal grandfather, eventually yelling at the grandfather.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Utah Supreme Court punished Judge Andrus by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. June 2015), Mark continues to sit as a Juvenile Court judge in Farmington, Utah.
