Attorney Michael Jones of Wichita; ethical gremlin

The sate of Kansas presented Michael L. Jones with a law license in 1968 after he graduated from the University of Kansas Law School.

The Kansas Board for Discipline of Attorneys found Mike guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to assure that proceeds of estate were properly disbursed
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on ability to practice law
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Mike!)
  • Misconduct caused actual injury to client
  • Exhibited indifference to make restitution to client

As a consequence of his misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Kansas Supreme Court punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (June 2015) Mike practices at 2243 North Bramblewood in Wichita, Kansas.
