Attorney Ray Sowards of San Jose; lying tax cheat

The state of California provided Ray William Sowards with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from Lincoln University Law School, which is a 4th tier school dedicated to serving losers that couldn’t get accepted into mainstream schools like UCLA, Pepperdine, USC or Stanford.

The California State Bar found Ray guilty of the following misconduct.

Over the course of three years, Ray knowingly underreported his income on his federal tax returns by more than $120,000.

During his trial for tax evasion in the U.S. Tax Court, the court determined that Ray gave false testimony concerning his wife’s non-existent consulting business, the creation of an alleged trust and payments related to an alleged business loan.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Ray by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

Because Attorney Misfits in California are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Ray was never criminally charged with perjury.

As we speak (ca. May 2015) Ray practices at 5669 Snell Avenue in San Jose, California.
