The state of California provided Laura A. Thompson with a law license in 2002 after she graduated from the University of San Diego Law School. 

The California State Bar found Laura guilty of the following misconduct.

• Improperly formed partnership with non-attorney
• Made communication containing false statements
• Misused client trust account
• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Used client funds to pay personal and business expenses

As a consequence of her misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Laura by gifting her with a complimentary 90-day suspension of her law license.
