Chief Justice Roy Moore: Today’s “Moron” Award Winner
Congratulations to….
Chief Justice Roy Moore Today’s “Moron” Award Winner
This isn’t the first Award presented to Roy. In the past, she has been the recipient of eight (8) Awards. Those awards are listed at the end of this article and can be viewed by going to the listed categories.
In April 2015, Roy accepted an award from a small group associated with the National Organization for Marriage that compared his defiance of federal courts on same-sex marriage to the efforts by Martin Luther King Jr. to end desegregation.
While accepting the award Roy laughingly compared court decisions in favor of marriage equality to the Supreme Court rulings in Plessy v. Ferguson and Dred Scott. Those two cases are summarized as follows:
For Roy Moore to equate the Plessy and Scott cases defames the history of the civil rights movement and the efforts of many to end slavery.
In truth, Roy’s bigoted conduct in attacking the gay community places him in the same boat as former Alabama Gov. George Wallace and Birmingham Sheriff Bull Connor. The only difference is that Roy aims his bigotry towards the gay community while Wallace and Connor aimed there’s at the black community.
Congrats Roy; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Morons”; you are far too humble.
