Attorney Darrell Hickman of Alexandria, LA; ethical gremlin

The state of Louisiana presented Darrell Keith Hickman with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU) Law School.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Darrell guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Failed to advise client of true status of her legal matter
  • Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Darrell by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Darrell.

As we speak (ca. May 2015), Darrell practices with the Hickman Law Office at 620 Murray Street in Alexandria, Louisiana.
