Attorney Douglas Barker of Mt. Pleasant, SC; ethical leprechaun

The State of South Carolina presented Douglas Alan Barker with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from Pepperdine University Law School.

Disciplinary Counsel of the South Carolina Supreme Court found Doug guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Made claim that wasn’t meritorious in divorce proceeding
  • Failed to be fair to opposing party
  • Committed perjury
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  • Violated his oath of office

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the South Carolina Supreme punished Doug by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2015), Doug practices at 1051 Chuck Dawley Blvd in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
