Attorney Ernest Gomez of Denver; ethical leprechaun

The state of Colorado provided Anthony R. Cross with a law license in 1978.

The Colorado State Bar found Ernie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to explain matter to allow client to make informed decisions re: representation
  • Failed to properly communicate basis for fee with client
  • Failed to deposit client funds in client trust account
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Engaged in the unauthorized practice of law
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Ernie by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 180-day suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Ernie.

As we speak (ca. April 2015), Ernie practices at 600 17thStreetin Denver, Colorado.
