Today’s “Moron” Award Winner

At the 03/25/15 “Defense of Texas Marriage Amendment Rally,” Roy joined in with his fellow bigots in denouncing the gay rights movement and federal judges who have ruled in favor of marriage equality. (Brian Tashman)

Roy claimed he was motivated to speak even though “normally judges don’t speak in public about these types of issue. In a lame attempt at levity, Roy then told his fellow bigots:

• “if I should hold back my opinions at such a time as this, I would consider myself guilty of treason toward my country and an act of disloyalty to the majesty of heaven which I revere above all earthly kings.”

Roy went on to say:

• “There is today another threat, not only in Texas and Alabama, but across our country where state and federal court judges have overruled constitutional amendments passed by the people of those states, and people have just sat by and watched it out of fear of the federal government.”
• “But nothing in the Constitution of the United States, nothing in the laws or precedents of the federal courts give federal courts any authority over domestic policy of family and marriage in the state of Texas, in the state of Alabama, or anywhere else.”

The above rant further proves that Roy is a total buffoon (my apologies) and totally ignorant of the federal court’s intervention to prevent state sponsored discrimination. And it totally proves that he is unfit to sit on the Alabama Supreme Court.

CongratsRoy; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Morons”; you are far too humble.
