Destroying Unions strengthens economy sez Rev. Scott Walker
It cannot be disputed that Gov. Scott Walker is nothing more than a mouthpiece for right-wing screwballs like the Koch Brothers who are hell bent on destroying any semblance of unionized labor in the U.S. of A.
Walker and his minions, repeatedly attack unions as being run by a bunch of goons who are costing consumers billions of dollars in inflated costs due to their wage and benefit demands.
I can personally attest to the operation of unions in the 1960s since I was a union steward in a factory overseen by Teamster’s Local 20 in Toledo, Ohio. At that time, things were not on the up and up with Local 20 and some of the thugs associated with it. However, that is no longer the case.
Say what you want about unions, but they are solely responsible for a 40-hour-work week, sick, holiday, vacation and bereavement pay, health insurance and retirement benefits.
Walker and his greedy accomplices like the Koch Brothers, claim that employment will rise in Wisconsin with the passage of a “Right-to-Work” law that allows workers to refuse to pay union dues while working at a facility represented by a union.
Walker’s conclusion is pure fantasy and nothing more than a naked attempt to please his financial benefactors, the Koch Brothers, et al. Walker’s claim that a worker in a union factory shouldn’t have to pay union dues to defray the costs of union representation is pure bunk. Such an argument would be analogous to the following:
Given the facts above, Scotty then supports and signs the following legislation into law.
Of course such a proposition is facially absurd. How in the world can a worker at the Harley- Davidson factory in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin demand union protection while at the same time refusing to pay the monthly dues that pay for said protection?
Walker’s “Right-to-Work” law won’t create any jobs in Wisconsin. What it will do is allow for greedy owners to pocket more of the profits that are generated by their unappreciated and in many instances undercompensated workers.
