Gay Community Opposes Bigotry
In November 2014, Joseph Silk duped the voters into electing him as a member of the Oklahoma State Senate.
Joey makes no bones about the fact that he is a die-in-the-wool Bigot and practicing Homophobe. In fact, Joey introduced legislation in the Oklahoma State Senate that would allow so-called Christian business owners to lawfully discriminate against gay customers. Joey laughingly defends his legislation by claiming it protects “religious liberty.” (Kyle Mantyla)
When interviewed by the New York Times reporters Richard Fausset and Alan Blinder, Joey said in part:
“The L.G.B.T. movement is the main thing, the primary thing that’s going to be challenging religious liberties and the freedom to live out religious convictions.” In a lame effort at levity, Joey went on to tell the Times reporters:
Yeah Joey, you have homosexual friends just like Delbert the racist defended his racism by saying, “I ain’t no racist; I had a black friend once.”
Joey then decided to appear on fellow bigot Bryan Fisher’s comedy radio program (ca. 03/8/15), wherein he spewed forth the following hate filled comments.
Joey finished off his rant by urging churches “to get vocal” in support of his legislation before the government shuts them down.
One must wonder, what motivates Joey’s hate-filled opposition to members of the gay community. Maybe we need to ask Joey the following relevant question:
“What’s in your closet, Joey?”
As we speak (ca. March 2016), Joey remains sitting as a member of the Oklahoma State Senate.
